All young people should be able to experience the enjoyment of being able to play and create music. But, the cost of buying a new instrument for a young person to begin their musical journey is often too much for a family. So, we are asking for your help to get the next generation of the community playing.

The old fiddle you have on top of the wardrobe, the banjo that hasn't been out of its case in 20 years, that accordion taking up space under your stairs. Comhaltas in Britain needs these instruments....

We work with young people who are ready and eager to go forward on their musical journey if they could use that instrument.

We are asking for anyone who has an instrument they no longer need or use to donate it to us so we can get more young people playing, learning and enjoying Irish music.

We are happy to receive any instrument used in traditional Irish music which you would like to donate. We will clean and repair the instrument breathing new life into it giving enjoyment to a young person for years to come.

All instruments donated will be used as part of the Comhaltas in Britain national instrument bank and provided on a short-term loan basis to young person. This way instruments will remain as part of the community and will continue benefit more people as they are passed on.

If you don't have any instruments to donate don't worry. You can still support a young person’s musical development by making a small donation towards the cost of an instrument. A donation of just £5 would buy a tin whistle for a young person to start their Irish musical journey. A bigger donation would contribute to a fiddle, flute, banjo or accordion and set up a child for a lifetime of enjoyment, creativity and friendship.

All Monies donated to instruments for kids will be used directly to purchase instruments.
